This text is a theological and ecological re-reading of the Christian Holy Week from the perspective of COVID19. The virus is calling our attention to the ways humans are encroaching the earth, invading wildlife and negotiating/eating every kind of animal. The result is affecting only humans, the species that alone is breaking the patterns of balance that took millions of years to be in place. What is it left for us? COVID invites us to change our ways of praying, believing, being religious? Holy Week can help us process the ways of the Christian faith and can help us think COVID as well. The virus is an alert that resurrection cannot be taken for granted. Unless grace is about humans working with the earth, there might not be resurrection.
